The Community Foundation of Warren County never wants a student to miss out on scholarship opportunities. The Foundation scholarship application period for the 2024-2025 academic year is still open but closes April 16th so please apply today. The application period closes April 16th so you need to complete your application now. There is still time to apply but you must apply now so you don’t miss out.
All Warren County Graduating Seniors are eligible and scholarship money is available: All Warren County High School graduating Seniors including the Tidioute Community Charter School, the Warren County Christian School, and Home-Schooled Seniors are encouraged to apply.
Visit cfowc.org/Scholarships to start or complete your application today: This one simple application is all you need to complete to be considered for the 46 scholarships administered by the Community Foundation of Warren County.
Check all available scholarships: After you answer the qualifying questions you are presented with a list of scholarships you may be eligible for. You must check the box next to each scholarship to be considered and there is no downside to checking them all. We do not want you to miss any opportunities.
Encountering FAFSA delays? We have a “work-around” for you. We understand the issues you may be experiencing on the FAFSA website and do not want to delay the processing of your application. Simply upload a blank PDF file in place of the FAFSA document and you will be able to continue on to complete and submit your application.
Remember to SUBMIT your application once you have uploaded all your required documents. Uploading documents is the last step required before submitting your completed application but you MUST remember to click submit once your uploads are complete or your application will not be submitted for consideration.
DO NOT use your high school email address as your username when starting an application. High School issued email addresses become inactive after graduation. We need you to use an email address that you will be able to access beyond graduation so you continue to receive important notices regarding your scholarships including renewal information in future years.
Have you received a renewable scholarship in prior years? You must renew each year: Very important! You must renew your application each year and upload required documents to continue receiving the scholarship.
Forgot your username or password? Call (814) 726-9553, or email lag.cfwc@westpa.net. We are here to help you. If you create duplicate accounts because you couldn’t remember your login it may create issues with processing your application resulting in missed opportunities for you. Do not hesitate to contact the Foundation office for help.
Individual scholarships can range from several hundred dollars to $10,000 and these are not loans, King points out, “This is money to help pay for your education which does not need to be repaid. Please apply to see what’s available to you. You could benefit from the immense generosity of the many community-minded donors who have provided funds over the years to help Warren County Students through scholarship for the betterment of themselves and their community.”
Whether students are first time applicants or past recipients seeking to renew, Foundation Administrative Assistant, LouAnn Gadsby, stressed, “We are here to help the students. Please do not hesitate to call, email or stop in the office. We never want a student to miss out on scholarship opportunities so if students have any questions on how to proceed, or needs help with their username or password, I urge them to contact the Foundation right away. We are here to help the students.”
Last year, the Foundation awarded over one million dollars in scholarships to over 300 Warren County Students. Matching grants from the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency added over $300,000 in additional funds through PATH grants for qualifying Warren County students who attended schools in Pennsylvania. A PATH matching grant can be as large as $2,500. According to King, “We are very pleased with our partnership with the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA). Their matching grants can make a significant impact on a student’s finances before graduation and in reducing the loans they have to repay after graduation.”
