The Community Foundation of Warren County is happy to announce that their online scholarship application will be available starting January 31 for students to apply for 2024-2025 academic year scholarships.  Foundation Executive Director, Mark King, added, “Our online application process makes it easy for students to apply to one or many of the 46 scholarships available through the Foundation all with one single application. I invite all graduating Warren County Seniors to visit our website, cfowc.org, where they can find the link to the scholarship application under the “Apply For Scholarships” menu option.”

Individual scholarships can range from several hundred dollars to $10,000 and these are not loans, King points out, “This is money you may be eligible for to help complete your education which does not need to be repaid. Please apply to see what’s available to you. You could benefit from the immense generosity of many community minded donors who have provided funds over the years to help Warren County Students through scholarship for the betterment of themselves and their community.”

Students who have received scholarships from the Foundation in prior years must renew their application to continue receiving the scholarships. Eligible students will receive e-mail instructions letting them know that the online application is ready for them to enter their renewal information. The requirements for renewals are different from those for new applications.

Whether students are first time applicants or past recipients seeking to renew, Foundation Administrative Assistant, LouAnn Gadsby, stressed one key instruction, “Please do not create duplicate applications. Duplicate applications from the same student cause complications and delays in the application review process. We never want a student to miss out on scholarship opportunities so if a student has any questions on how to proceed, or needs help with their username or password, I urge them to contact the Foundation right away. We are here to help the students.”

For the 2023-2024 academic year, the Foundation awarded over one million dollars in scholarships to over 300 Warren County Students. Matching grants from the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency added over $250,000 in additional funds through PATH grants for qualifying Warren County students who attended schools in Pennsylvania. A PATH matching grant can be as large as $2,500. According to King, “We are very pleased with our partnership with the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA). Their matching grants can make a significant impact on a student’s finances before graduation and in reducing the loans they have to repay after graduation.

The Community Foundation Online Application is available at cfowc.org under the “Apply For Scholarships” menu option.
