The Paula Southwell Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of Paula Southwell, a student at Warren Area High School, who died tragically prior to graduation.  A graduating senior is selected for exemplifying the qualities by which Paula lived; leadership, intelligence, passion, and determination.  They must participate in community service throughout their high school careers and demonstrate a willingness to fight for change and stand up for their beliefs, speaking out against injustice.  Paula’s family participates in the selection process.  This year’s recipient is Robin Thomas.

The Community Foundation awarded over $900,000 of scholarships for the 2016-2017 academic year.  Matching PATH grants awarded by the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency to qualifying students attending Pennsylvania schools boost the total over $1,000,000.

Scholarship applications for the 2017-2018 school year will be available after February 1, 2017.
