Community Foundation Grants
In the last five years, the Community Foundation of Warren County has awarded over $5 million dollars in grants to charitable causes serving Warren County residents. Foundation grants are considered for capital expenses benefiting the arts, education, community, and healthcare. The Community Foundation does not make grants for operating expenses, programs, or activities. Grants may be requested for up to 20% of total project costs.  

DeFrees Family Memorial Fund Grants
The DeFrees Family Memorial Fund is a component fund of the CFWC. It has a separate oversight committee that reviews the grant requests and recommends grant distributions to the Community Foundation Distribution Committee. The DeFrees Family Memorial Fund considers grants for capital expenses, but may also consider grants for programs, activities, or events.

Organizations may file grant requests with both the DeFrees Family Memorial Fund and the Community Foundation of Warren County, and could be eligible to receive a grant from each Fund.

Community Foundation Grant applications received by the 20^th of the month will usually be considered at the next board meeting, typically held on the second Tuesday of the month. Click the link below for the 2026 board meeting calendar along with the grant application deadlines.

Community Foundation Grant Application Deadline Calendar

DeFrees Grant applications must be received 30 days in advance of quarterly meetings of the Oversight Committee.  The DeFrees Family Memorial Fund Oversight Committee meets quarterly on the third Monday of January, April, July, and October.
