Two new funds established at the Community Foundation of Warren County will provide support to Tidioute’s important institutions and funding for special projects in that community.
The Byers Fund was established by Dave and Howard Byers for the benefit of the Tidioute Area Health and Dental Clinic. They also created the Tidioute Institutional Fund which will benefit the Tidioute Community Charter School, and the Tidioute Public Library. The Byers brothers grew up in Tidioute, and have generously supported projects in the town throughout the years. The investment income from these two funds will continue to support these key institutions in Tidioute.
In addition to the funds designated for the organizations listed above, the Tidioute Institutional Fund provides money for Tidioute Opportunity Grants to be administered by the Community Foundation Board of Directors. These grants are to be used for projects and programs specific to the Tidioute Community.
“We are very pleased to announce the opening of these two funds established for the benefit of Tidioute,” noted John Lasher, Executive Director of the Foundation. “It was a pleasure to work with Dave Byers setting up these funds. He and his brother have a real love for Tidioute and wanted to provide lasting support for the organizations that make Tidioute a special place to live. It is wonderful that two brothers, who left Tidioute as young men, never forgot their home town. Thanks to their successes in life, they were able to create these funds which will support important institutions in Tidioute forever.”
Both Funds can accept contributions from anyone who wishes to support Tidioute and these important organizations that serve the community. Individuals can make contributions to either fund through the Community Foundation and those are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Checks payable to the Community Foundation with the fund name in the memo line will insure the proper fund receives the donation.
